Emulsions have a vast range of applications and are used in industries from pharmaceuticals to cosmetics to food science. Recently, it has been shown that microgels adhere to liquid-liquid interfaces of emulsions, increasing emulsion stability and opportunity for functionality. I am interested in fabricating Janus microgels in order to study how varying microgel functionality affects mechanical properities like viscoelasticity and deformation at liquid-liquid interfaces.
